West Nyack, NY — New company HEALTHePRACTICES helps medical practices become more competitive and reduce healthcare delivery costs by delivering turnkey solutions for telehealth, teleradiology, telecardiology, and electronic medical records.

HEALTHePRACTICES also works with telecommunication networks providing the infrastructure that enables these services. In addition, the new firm provides consulting assistance to healthcare organizations in business development, operations, telehealth law, IT support, and marketing communications.

Founder Howard Reis is a telemedicine industry veteran with 25 years at the intersection of healthcare and telecommunications. Reis said, “We have launched this firm with an array of services from a variety of providers that can each provide solutions critical to the day-to-day operations of existing practices. We are also creating a platform where we can evaluate and deliver future solutions based on specific customer requirements, especially as they relate to any aspect of telemedicine.”

According to Nirav Desai, CEO of Hands On Telehealth, a media and consulting company focused on telehealth strategy and marketing, “The American Telemedicine Association has said that 10 million patients have already been served by telemedicine.” Teleradiology accounts for 5.5 million of those 10 million patients. Reis said “We plan to bring lessons learned in the teleradiology business to other medical specialties.”
